Gotta side with DJ here. Nintendo is either highly conservative or bad at estimating demand. There's no logic to the idea of restricting supply to artificially inflate demand. Sure, there are more ebay scalpers is such a world, but that doesn't benefit Nintendo one bit.

For anybody who's still on fence about getting the Pro Controller, it's well worth the money. Great feel and play like Steve and DJ said, plus you can get ~15 hours if not more of battery life from using it.

I'm sure I'll be looking into getting a Pro Controller in the future due to needing a second controller for my big brother, so it's good to know that it's a good control option.
My sole gripe with the control scheme as it stands is the placement of the - button, both on the regular and Pro controllers, as even with my thin fingers I keep tripping the left analog stick trying to press that button. Everything else is solid though.

I just tried to get a Switch from Gamestop. They are forcing you to buy FIVE (!!) accessories before they will sell you a console! uuughhhhhhh.

Yikes. That is ridiculous.
One of these gaming generations I'm hoping that Nintendo actually makes enough consoles to meet demand.

They did for the Wii U. They exceeded it, even.

I happened across one in Target. No nonsense purchase, though I suspect that the clerk thought I was a scalper.
"Sure, buddy...buying it for a friend and that's why you don't want any games or protection plans."

Gotta side with DJ here. Nintendo is either highly conservative or bad at estimating demand. There's no logic to the idea of restricting supply to artificially inflate demand. Sure, there are more ebay scalpers is such a world, but that doesn't benefit Nintendo one bit. The logic was probably that Nintendo couldn't afford to be caught with extra stock twice in a row. Nintendo learned from the Wii that guessing low is actually reasonably safe because it creates hype. Overestimate inventory and you're stuck with product. The objective isn't to create hype, it's to reduce the financial risk Nintendo has to face to launch. I'm sure Nintendo is perfectly aware that hype can't actually sell enough consoles to change the lifetime sales--and I'm sure they'd rather get the consoles out rather than trickle them onto shelves. But getting burned with two over-inventory launches in a row would not have been good for Nintendo, either. As for the Switch itself, this is the first time EVER that Nintendo has made me feel uncomfortable about buying one of their products. Warping consoles, scratching screens and dead pixels? And this is actually the second time Nintendo's done this; I had a 3DS XL with the infamous broken hinge problem. It is completely unlike Nintendo for you to need to worry about their production quality and yet now you do.
