It couldn't be TOO long before we started a GoT thread. Note: Any content from the books that could be viewed as spoilers, OR content from the current/last season- put it in spoiler tags. Just do it. Be nice. To start us off: Has anyone else seen the rumor-mill about Jason Momoa right now? He was the actor to play Khal Drogo, and has been posting on Instagram a slew of photos of him getting drunk on Guinness while hanging out with writer/creators of the show in Ireland, where filming is taking place. As much as it would be silly fun for him to somehow be resurrected, I don't think we're getting a white walker out of a man burned to ash. Flashback maybe?

Well there was this whole prophecy about when he would return.
"When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east," said Mirri Maz Duur, "When the seas go dry and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before."
In the books, there's an idea that the sun refers to Quentyn Martell. His house sigil is literally the sun, and he is born in the west(eros) and dies in the east. The seas going dry refers to the Dothraki sea, which is consistently browning. The mountain naturally refers to Gregor Clegane, though I dunno how exactly this involves blowing like leaves in the wind, but the entire Robert Strong thing hasn't been resolved. As for the last bit, Dany seems to be having a period again at the end of ADWD while battling with trying to make a hat.
Granted none of this happens in the show, but hey, they brought back Benjen with a flimsy explanation. So why not?

I figure he's probably going to be featured in a vision/dream sequence. Dany likes to have those in both forms of the story, and we're overdue for a prophetic fever-dream on the show.
Regarding the prophecy, I always through Mirri was being a sassy bitch -- and even if she was telling the truth about vegetable Drogo eventually coming back, Dany would've ruined it by killing him and cremating him. Undeathing Benjen is easy enough when he goes missing in a region where the dead keep walking, but how exactly do you undo cremation?

But then we'd need to know that someone actually kept those ashes. That I have reservations about, although it would in theory be fun.
I'm with Lena in that I always figured it was bitchy sarcasm.
Yet as far as fan theories go, I still want it to turn out that Tyrion is the bastard son of the mad king. :3

I could see it going the other way, where Jaime and Cersei are Aerys' kids from raping Tywin's wife sometime in the past. If Tyrion was Tywin's only trueborn child, Tywin would constantly compare his dwarf son to the Lannister pictures of perfection whom aren't his. In other words, Tyrion was the best Tywin could do (weird wording throughout this entire paragraph).
That being said I still think they're all Tywin's children, and Bran will be the 3rd head of the dragon by warging into Viseryon to fight the others.
P.S. I think we should continue the policy of the old thread and put all book content for, let's say, ADWD-TWOW released chapters in spoilers? Just in case show watchers reading this eventually feel like picking up ASOIAF in the future and don't lose out on any of the non-show plot.

At this point, the previous season and the new upcoming one are also entirely separated from the book. So any content about the episodes should also be in spoilers. I'll edit that into the 1st post.

...then watch, it turns out they're actually filming another Seth Meyers skit.
...which I'm okay with, the other two were kinda great.

There was a major script leak today -- assuming you believe it's valid. Some of it has been supported by set footage, while others may be speculations. I'm always hesitant to trust leaks, but at the same time a leak was accurate about Sansa's marriage... fate. So. Yeah. The leaker's account on reddit was quickly deleted. They are major spoilers for big moments and character deaths, so only proceed if you don't mind knowing the twists in advance. https://www.reddit.com/r/freefolk/comments/57w3yw/my_awayforthelads_season_7_spoiler_timeline/
* Dany will land on Dragonstone in an elaborate, moving sequence where she enters the halls of her ancestors -- planning an invasion of Westeros just like they did.
* Aftermath of sept explosion: Tyrells in open war with the Lannisters. * Lannister armies ambush and slaughter the Tyrells. * Highgarden is sacked. * Jaime finds out that Olenna poisoned Joffrey. * So he forces her to drink poison and watches her die.
* Sounds like Dany and her dragons then ambush the Lannisters as they return from the Reach. * Jaime surrenders / is defeated. * A tentative alliance is formed between Cersei / Jon / Dany, with Dany making terms. * They all agree to unite and fight the White Walkers
* Early episodes, Arya kills the remaining Frey men. Spares the women.
* While Jon is in the south, Sansa rules Winterfell. * Arya and Bran reunite with her. * ARYA REUNITES WITH NYMERIA !!!!!! * ARYA AND BRIENNE SPAR / BRIENNE TEACHES HER KNIGHTLY FIGHTING !!!
* Littlefinger tries to screw over Sansa. * She's fucking wise to his ways. * She orders his immediate execution * ARYA EXECUTES HIM.
* Randyll Tarly refuses to support Dany; she executes him with dragons.
* Jon and Dany start fucking; neither know they're related. Eck.
* Sam and Bran legitimize Jon and name him rightful heir of the Iron Throne. * Flashback sequence of a secret wedding between Rhaegar and Lyanna -- get to see Rhaegar! * Jon's name is supposedly Aegon. Eh.
Finale-ish: * Heroes go north of the wall to fight White Walkers. * They fuck up; Dany comes to bail them out with dragons. * VISERION IS KILLED BY THE NIGHT'S KING * AND IS THEN RESURRECTED INTO A WIGHT DRAGON * NIGHT'S KING USES DRAGON TO BURN DOWN THE WALL.

I heard about the plot leak, hoping to stay as far away from it as possible. It's so hard to find good media to enjoy without worrying about spoilers.

Thoughts: * Is Arya back in Winterfell, or getting there? * That giant map just seems impractical. * Those Lannister shields are amazing. * The Dany's-blowin-shit-up-with-dragons motive underpins a lot of this soundtrack * DANY'S THRONE IS AWESOME * DRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOONS
