"Hey, Sean, what's a way that you can contribute to the new place while also opening everyone up to dissenting opinions and ridicule? Ah. Fucking got it."
Ever. Ever ever. If you had to pick one, or a few if you can't make up your mind, what would you label as the worst film without a doubt you have ever watched?
My go to is always Hugh Jackman's Van Helsing. That is the only film I've actively wanted my god damned money back after having witnessed.

I saw Suicide Squad but on Tuesday where theatres here have half price tickets that day.
It still wasn't worth it.

Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender were fucking awful. I presume we're not counting the deliberately awful Z-movies on Syfy.
We should find a way to watch them together and make fun of them -- record a fun little Discord movie insulting session.

Meet the Spartans. Just... Just don't ever watch this travesty. It wasn't my choice but I got dragged into it.

You know I was having such a hard time coming up with a nomination for this (dis)honor, but thank you for reminding me of this utter abomination. I almost gave the title away to much less deserving films.

Mostly I'm just disappointed in you two for being able to convince yourselves to watch it in the first place.

I've never seen Dragon Ball Evolution but I am willing to take one for the team to get that soul crushing reaction.

I don't see a lot of movies and I'm pretty selective, but I got roped into watching Napoleon Dynamite. I know it became memetically popular, but I've never been more bored and baffled by a movie. Like, a really shitty action movie still has action, a shitty drama can come out hilariously over the top (see:Tommy Wiseau)...but when a comedy doesn't work all that you can do is cringe. I'm not that picky, I legitimately enjoyed The Phantom Menace (though I was 10 at the time, I should probably let the nostalgia filter stand on that one) but Napoleon Dynamite was less entertaining than just having the TV turned off.

I'm down for riffing a bad movie if we do it.
And....that's a tougher question then you'd think. Like the Dead or Alive and King of Fighters movies are completely terrible, but I don't know if those offended me to the point that I'd call them the worst movies I've ever seen. Same with Mortal Kombat Annihilation, even as a person who thinks the first (terrible) movie is unironically and genuinely entertaining, that second one is just trash, but I don't know if it's the worst. All three are definitely incredibly bad though, to the point where I can't even find any amusement in how bad they are. Any worse movies I've seen are probably movies I walked away from and changed the channel since it was so bad I'd quit watching.
If we're talking a movie where I went to the theater and was actively angry for having spent the money on tickets for it, that's honestly Man of Steel. It was such a giant utter disappointment, I was just angry walking out of that Tuesday matinee showing. That is the one and only time I ever walked out saying "F*ck this movie," notable since I hardly ever curse out loud much to my friends' surprise and shock. I men, Batman v Superman was also a garbage fire, but I didn't hate myself for seeing it afterwards. It's going to seem completely insane, but I was so pissed off that I set aside this little bit of money to watch this frickin' tire fire, and heck, I'm getting upset just thinking about it again.

Bad movie night is in fact a thing. I remember Icequake with distinct unpleasantness, and I'm quite glad I missed it when my friends watched Zombeavers (both of which are on Netflix...should you despise yourself.)
But my nomination has to be Final Fantasy VII: Spirits Within. It's the worst kind of bad movie; a boring one. It's not spectacular the way Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome was. It's not a dumb movie which stumbled onto meaningful symbolism like Harlock: Space Pirate. It's not even entertainingly stupid like Murder By Death. It's just two hours of boredom.

I love bad movies! I watched a lot of MST3K when I was a kid, which led to a friend and I as adults tracking down a lot of the stuff in the Something Weird Video catalog. We had a party where we watched Plan 9 from Outer Space. It was great.
But the worst movie I've ever seen? Manos, The Hands Of Fate. We'd watched the MST3K version, and it was hilarious, but the Satellite of Love guys were emphatic that it was the worst thing they'd ever seen and not to watch it without them ever, so we decided to do that and see if that was true. It was. It was not bad in a funny way, or in an entertaining way. It was bad in a boring, soul-wearying way, like watching it was making us age faster. I don't recommend it. Really, don't watch it. It sucks.
But that movie was a tiny indie thing made for no money, so it's not on the same footing as a professional movie. As far as more mainstream films with major distributors go: anybody here seen The Spirit? It's SO BAD. The horribleness of it comes off as almost a joke but when you think about it being made by Frank Miller, you know that he totally, 100%, completely means it, and it's sad.

Oh my god Pogo. You brave, brave man. I was getting ready to be all, "Hey now MST3K doesn't count." but then I got to the part where you actually watched Manos on your own. Jesus, dude, that's... I don't know whether to be impressed or sad.
