You'll find some new skins available in your profile settings. Currently, I'm trying to customize and improve:
Slimline -- another sleek, clean skin. Downside is the text in posts is too tiny for my liking, and that seems to be the only text that can't readily be changed in the CSS visual editor. So far I've messed with every single text setting I can find, and that's the only one that won't cooperate. Maybe if I dig in the actual code. Otherwise, very nice skin. Could potentially work as our default.
Super M -- A Nintendo / Super Mario themed skin. Just needs a good header to pull it all together.
Cloud 9 -- A forest/nature theme. Might turn down the opacity on the background image.
Black Widow -- Obligatory LoD style red and black skin.
Moon -- SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE and blue colors (reminiscent of the Forsaken Fortress or Chamber of Sages dorms).
Fairy Tale -- A rustic, earth-tone skin. I like the theme, but hate the column settings, so I'm seeing if there's an option to re-position them into something more sensible.
Night Rising -- Nice colors and a cool shoutbox alternative, but the stupid lower menu is in the way if your resolution is, like, 720p or less. Will try to find a way to either (re)move the bottom menu or adjust the size settings to where it won't be in the way. Until then, you can get around this by zooming out in your browser a little bit. I have mine set on 90%.
And I'm still searching through the ProBoards theme library for even better alternatives.
None of them have proper headers yet. Those will come later.
Actually, if anyone wants to help design a new LA logo, that'd be great. It might be a little improper to keep using the Hylian shield design, since we won't strictly be a Zelda forum anymore. Future thread idea?

I think I like Slimline best for its simplicity and practicality, though Night Rising does some very interesting things for the format that feels a bit more modern.

oooh I agree, I like the Night Rising theme quite a bit. It's sexy.
On Slimline I just don't like the gradient headers. Other than that it's pretty nice too.

I rather like Moon, though I think a good Header would make Super M a fun skin as well. I might try to cobble together a Mario-esque logo sometime next week and see if it works.
Speaking of LA logos, I don't think we should entirely abandon the Zelda theme, since even though we are generally moving away from it, it still is a big part of our history. I think having a few skins with the Zelda styled Logo would be fine, like if we used the logo from Carbon Red on old LA for Black Widow, I think it would work for some of them. Others, like Super M and Moon, would probably be best suited to a different styling, such as Mario for Super M, obviously, and Star Trek/Wars for Moon.
Just a thought.

I like Moon but the tiny blue text on blue background is hard on my old lady eyes.

Actually, maybe we can incorporate some of the dorm logos we drew up for the Chronicles? A lot of them had some pretty cool designs.
I'll try to adjust font color and stuff later today.

There are a lot of skins on there with good potential, but a lot are hard on my old man eyes.
I totally agree with Rova about Moon. It's a fantastic visual, but blue on blue is impossible to read.
Black widow is also damn beautiful, but I find the font is just a bit too small to comfortably read. Could you make a larger font/ sans serif version? If it were 12 point in Avant Garde, I think it would be perfect. Such a dark background has so many possible advantages, like they're easier on your eyes, night or day, and preserve device batteries even if you forget to turn your brightness down.
Right now I'm using Fairy Tale, which has a bizarre no-avatars unless you hover problem, and the forum list looks wonky. But it's the most readable.

Tweaked the colors on the Moon skin. Brightened the forum names, and made the default post text to near-white. Hopefully everyone finds that easier on their eyes. I know I do. Increased font size in posts.
Increased the font size in posts for Slimline, too.
Increased font size and adjusted font color in Black Widow.
Night Rising is indeed very modern and pretty, but so far it's also the least flexible with customization. Still getting used to how ProBoards does their skins, so I might come back to that one after I've gotten more comfortable with how they structured their CSS. I'm currently using it as my personal skin. The 90% zoom seems to resolve its major issues, so no biggie.
(I'll probably have to go back and manually adjust the styling for text editors, too, as that's a totally separate category)

Cloud 6 is my favourite so far, it has a Lost Woods-esque feel to it. Is there a way to have the skins stretch the full width of our resolutions? Both my computers have got 1080p displays but the skins only have width of about 1300-1368. Unless it's the skin is deliberately meant to be a fixed width.  |

Yeah, the style designers either use fixed width or percentage width. I can switch them all over to percentage tomorrow.

Okay so I have to nitpick something I'M SORRY but this is driving me up the wall lol So on Ye Olde LA I usually navigated the threads by going to the New Content page, and from there I could right click on the last time someone posted to open the thread in a new tab (as seen here), and it would take me to the last post. WELL apparently I can't do that here, on any of the skins?? I can left click and it functions fine but when I right click it only gives me this:  So is there, like... Idk..... some kind of option to make it work how I want it... lol I like being able to open all the threads I wanna read in new tabs at the same time and not click on each of them individually u___u I'M SORRY I know this is the stupidest thing to ask about but I'm a fussy old lady that needs things to stay exactly the same always and forever I LOVE U LENA P.S. I like the test skin I'm using it don't delete it kthx |

The "new content" thing exists, it's just called something else. legendsalliance.boards.net/threads/recentClick on the "new" icon before the thread title begins (at least in Moon, which I'm currently testing) and it'll zoom you straight to the newest post. You can usually find the link to most recent threads at the bottom of skins. Maybe not all, haven't looked, but usually. |

Gonna be testing some logos and banners and adjusting some images today, so don't be alarmed if you see stuff moving around. It's on purpose. Or on accident. But the accident was made purposefully.
And again, no logos are final because I'm just throwing stuff up there for the sake of having it up there. We can make an "official" logo later if we want something better. The one I threw together was a mix of our traditional Triforce + Ikana Canyon's dorm symbol + the Chamber of Sages dorm flag from the Chronicles.
