I played an Oculus Rift demo back in March and was pretty impressed by what I saw, but I've been skeptical about the long-term of VR gaming, especially with the cost of entry. The demo hurt my resolve more than I expected. Then E3 happened with some interesting VR announcements, like Skyrim, Fallout, and Moss. I was inching closer to a PSVR, maybe after saving up some credit card points or asking for Best Buy gift cards for Christmas.
And then I got a deal on an Oculus Rift+Touch combo. $250 for the whole package. Resolve shattered. I've been sticking with freebies for the short term, and it's been amazing.
1. Cool packaged tech demos like Dream Deck, First Contact, and Toy Box were all fun ways to show off what I was getting into. 2. Waltz of the Wizard was another tech demo kind of thing where you poke around a wizards lab, make spells, and open secret portals. 3. EVE Valkyria is essentially VR Star Fox. 4. Robo Recall is fucking rad.
Has anyone else giving VR a shot? Any suggestions?

If you have friends to play with, then you HAVE to play Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. A friend of mine has PSVR, and that is the only game we keep coming back to whenever we have gatherings. It's very stressful, but very fun.
Outside of that, the only other VR game that has piqued my interest is the Star Trek Bridge Crew VR game, but I have not played it personally.

I played a few rounds of KTANE and that was fun. I'm mostly interested in single player stuff, though.
I beat Robo Recall last night, but there is more to do. Kind of similar to modern Mario games, there are optional objectives in each level to clear. I think I need to put the Oculus down and beat some of the games that have been sitting on the shelf or in my consoles.

Ha! Put the Oculus down...
Oculus store had a bundle with Job Simulator, Mage's Tale, Rick and Morty VR, and Arizona Sunshine. The only of the four that I wasn't so sure about was Arizona Sunshine because I'm not sure I have the constitution for survival horror in VR. Still a decent discount, so I grabbed the bundle.
Job Simulator is a good time. I played one job so far. It's more of a VR experience than a game, but that's still ok for me at the moment. Mage's Tale looks more like the deep experience I'm really after and I look forward to trying it out.
