This guy showed up in the mail today. I'm hesitantly excited. I remember reading bits of it in Nintendo Power and I have no idea how well I should expect it to hold up. Attachments:

I picked it up months ago, but still haven't got around to reading it again. One thing I will say for it, the art is gorgeous. I was so upset when I couldn't convince my parents to buy it for me when I saw it in collected form as the store.

Ahhh yeah. I just bought it the other day. It's a good time. The art in particular - it might be best enjoyed as an art book rather than a story to read. But don't let me stop you from trying!

The art is really, really nice. Ironically, the only thing about it I don't like is Link's model.

I remember reading scans of it on Zelda Legends back in the day, crazy art style. I always liked the little bit of melancholy they threw in at the very end, it was a good touch.

I got that and the Super Mario one for Christmas, though I havne't read either yet. I remember liking both a lot as a kid, and flipping through I love the artwork, but I'm sort of afraid of reading them and finding out they're not great. I mean, I will eventually, and at the very least, I like the look of both.

Is the Mario the one where Wario turns evil because Mario is such a bully?

I have a copy. I love the art sooooo much - it's really interesting to see manga-style art done in a western comic style, in full color and with such huge pages! It's a great buy.

Is the Mario the one where Wario turns evil because Mario is such a bully? Mario seems more oblivious than anything, but yup. The story I remember is the one where Peach dresses up as a plumber and rescues Mario & Luigi, completely just wrecking house all the way through Bowser's castle.

I think this is related. I got the Legend of Zelda: Art and Artifacts which was just released. It's a fantastic book with 427 HUGE pages of vibrant, high-resolution art from the course of the Zelda series. It's mostly art I've seen before in manuals and scans, but never like THIS. I absolutely love it and I would say it's definitely MORE than worth the 23 bucks it's going for on Amazon.

I've been so hyped for the Arts and Artifacts book for a while now, hoping I can snag a copy later this evening

That thing does look rather nice. I'm still working on Hyrule Historia myself. Let me tell you, looking at an art book with a 2 year old on your lap is exhausting.
Who this? Zelda This? Zelda This? Young Zelda This? Zelda
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ZELDAS ON THE PAGE?
Anyhow, I rather enjoyed the LttP comic. It deviated a lot, but still got the point across. I liked seeing Aghanim playing a bigger role than he did in the game, and a lot of the art was great. They totally missed an opportunity for Link being trolled by the monkey outside the Dark Palace, though.

It's pretty great. 100% art, essentially no text. Almost 450 pages. It's mostly a collection of key art and manual art from all the games, but I found a few pieces that I'd never seen before... and a LOT of pieces at a higher resolution than I think they've ever been printed at.
