Saw the movie today - obviously not as good as No. 1 but there was a lot of great character development for the minor characters. The Yondu storyline was especially great, of course.

Saw today. I actually liked this one more than the first. All the characters have established relationships now, so the jokes had a better, more familial flow to them. Better character moments.
The first one obviously has lasting appeal because of how it shook up the MCU. And the first one technically had a stronger story with a conventional antagonist. But I didn't like GOTG1 for its story, which, in the grand scheme of things, was just kind of "ehh" compared to some of the others. I liked it for its humor and character moments. So GOTG2 won me over by keeping things character-driven. It worked really well.
