Independence Day: Resurgence. I can't really name a movie I have ever hated. I have been disappointed. This one disappointed me more than I have been in a long time. I was excite immediately after seeing it, but then I started really thinking about it and I liked it less and less.
I think there was another movie I recently saw that disappointed me. I cannot remember the title. But I know it was NOT Suicide Squad or Batman v Superman. Fuck the haters. I loved them. I had a lot of fun watching them. I can't wait for Wonder Woman. I will be taking my daughter to that one. And Justice League will be another must see for me.

I don't see a lot of movies and I'm pretty selective, but I got roped into watching Napoleon Dynamite. I know it became memetically popular, but I've never been more bored and baffled by a movie. Like, a really shitty action movie still has action, a shitty drama can come out hilariously over the top (see:Tommy Wiseau)...but when a comedy doesn't work all that you can do is cringe. I'm not that picky, I legitimately enjoyed The Phantom Menace (though I was 10 at the time, I should probably let the nostalgia filter stand on that one) but Napoleon Dynamite was less entertaining than just having the TV turned off. I adore that movie but that's not why I'm posting— I remember reading once that Netflix has not been able to figure out an algorithm to predict who will and won't like Napoleon Dynamite. Like basically they get a sense for your taste and get pretty good at predicting what you like and don't like but ND seems to be totally random. I thought that was pretty interesting because I've definitely gotten into plenty of arguments with friends being like "what?! I thought you would love it!" My husband for example has basically identical comedic taste to my own but he hates ND.

That is... absolutely fascinating. I'd be really curious to see a deeper level of research into that subject.

Interesting! I love ND too, never understood why so many people with similar taste don't like it!
I'm not sure I could even tell you the absolute worst movie I've seen, because I've seen several very forgettable B movies that would probably be strong contenders (they're just so forgettable that I forgot them). But the one that comes to mind right now is actually Chasing Amy. I tried to watch it because I hear people talk about it pretty favorably all the time, but I really can't understand why; I couldn't even get more than halfway through it before getting bored and turning it off. It's not so much a movie as just a bunch of straight dudes sitting around asking questions about how lesbians work, with a thin veneer of story over the top. There's no art or creativity to the script at all. I mean, generally you want a movie to be somewhat realistic, but the dialogue in this "movie" is so mundane that there's not really anything to be interested in. And I find Joey Lauren Adams's voice and mannerisms just irritating as hell.
I mean, Clerks kind of had a similar problem with the script, but I think they did better with making it interesting.

You can count me as one of the ones who hates Napoleon Dynamite, and it is indeed the first one that comes to mind as the worst movie I've ever seen. But after thinking about it a little longer, that 'honor' would probably go to one of the later Barbie movies. (the early ones were actually pretty good imo)
